How to Build a Yacht Birthday Guest List

Planning a yacht birthday in Abu Dhabi starts with one practical question: how many people are actually coming? Yacht capacities are fixed, so a clear guest list helps you choose the right boat, control the budget and create a comfortable celebration around the Corniche, Saadiyat Island or another approved departure point.

Start with the yacht capacity

Use the published guest capacity as your starting limit. For example, Panda 1 Luxury Yacht accommodates up to 8 guests, while the 40 Ft Birthday Yacht and 55 Ft Luxury Yacht each accommodate up to 10. For a larger gathering, House Boat Luxury M1 and House Boat Luxury M2 each accommodate up to 40 guests.

Every person should be included in your count, including the birthday guest and children. Do not build the list around an estimated number and hope that a few extra guests will fit. If your list is close to the limit, choose a boat with more capacity before sending final invitations. You can compare the Abu Dhabi yacht fleet by guest size, location and package price.

Make three guest-list groups

Create three simple groups: essential guests, likely guests and reserve guests. Essential guests are the people whose presence matters most to the birthday person. Likely guests are friends or relatives who usually attend family occasions. Reserve guests are people you would invite only if someone from the first two groups declines.

This approach is useful when your selected yacht has limited space. A 12-person celebration on SNR Luxury House Boat or Mangosta Luxury Yacht needs a different invitation plan from a 20-person gathering on Haya House Boat or the 90 Ft Saadiyat House Boat. The aim is not to fill every place automatically. It is to create a guest list that fits the style of the celebration.

Separate confirmed replies from invitations

Sending an invitation does not equal receiving a confirmation. Use a simple list with four columns: name, contact details, invited or confirmed status, and dietary or special notes. Set a reply deadline before you make final arrangements. If a guest has not replied by the deadline, contact them once and then offer the place to someone on your reserve list.

For a child’s birthday, ask parents to confirm whether they are attending with their child. For an adult family celebration, ask each invitee to state the exact number of people coming with them. This avoids the common problem of one invitation becoming several uncounted guests.

Match the list to your budget

Capacity is only one part of the decision. A two-hour package on Marina Villa is AED 1,500 for up to 15 guests, while Haya House Boat is AED 2,000 for up to 20 guests. For up to 10 guests, the 40 Ft Birthday Yacht package is AED 1,598, and Panda 1 Luxury Yacht is AED 1,200 for up to 8 guests.

For a larger party, House Boat Luxury M1 is AED 2,500 for up to 40 guests, and House Boat Luxury M2 is AED 2,700 for up to 40 guests. These two-hour package prices already include the cake and deck decoration. The minimum charter is two hours. If you want more time, the extra-hour rate applies only beyond the package hours. Check the selected boat’s rate before promising a longer cruise to your guests.

Plan food and drinks from the final count

Once the confirmed number is clear, choose refreshments for the actual group size. Water, juices and soft drinks are suitable options for a yacht birthday. The available extras include a Mix Fruits Platter for AED 100, Vanilla Cake for AED 150 and Chocolate Cake for AED 150. Mix Grill is AED 100 with a two-meal minimum, while Seafood is AED 150 with a two-meal minimum.

Because the package already includes a cake and deck decoration, treat additional cake or decoration as an upgrade rather than something that must be added automatically. If you want a themed dessert, ask about the custom cake options, from Starter through Showstopper, which are available at a price on request. You can also review custom cake options before finalising the guest list.

Choose a location that suits the group

The departure location can help shape the invitation details. Many listed boats operate from Abu Dhabi Corniche, making the route convenient for a birthday overlooking the city waterfront. The 90 Ft Saadiyat House Boat is based at Saadiyat Island, which may suit a smaller gathering near Saadiyat and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Other Abu Dhabi marina points include Al Bateen Marina, Yas Marina and Zayed Port. Confirm the relevant meeting point and share it clearly with every confirmed guest.

Keep a final checklist

• Write down every guest by name.
• Count children and accompanying adults separately.
• Keep the confirmed total below the yacht’s stated capacity.
• Record food preferences and any important guest notes.
• Share the meeting location, boarding time and two-hour package duration.
• Keep two or three reserve guests only if the boat still has room.

A well-managed guest list makes the rest of the celebration easier. Once the number is settled, you can choose the yacht, package, food and optional activities with fewer last-minute changes.
